During 2008 CES (News - Alert), Cavium Networks will host multiple Broadband and SOHO reference designs that can be used by Service Providers, Original Design/Equipment Manufactures and Original Brand Marketers to build high performance Home, SOHO and SME gateways, networking and storage appliances that support next generation multi-media applications.

According to a press release, the company will demo a range of solutions featuring the OCTEON Family of MIPS64 single and dual-core processors including High-performance Triple-Play Gateway (News - Alert) with 802.11n WLAN and MoCA for LAN and WAN connectivity along with NAS functionality; Broadband Gateway with high performance Ultra Wide Band (UWB) WAN; and Broadband Gateway with Jungo (News - Alert) OpenRG software.

Cavium Networks’ demos will highlight performance, quality-of-service for simultaneous support of voice, video and data traffic, ready-to-use software and fanless hardware with low-power consumption.

Last month, the Embedded Microprocessor Benchmark Consortium chose Muhammad Raghib Hussain of Cavium Networks to lead the development of EEMBC's next generation of networking benchmarks as chair of the Consortium's Networking Subcommittee.
