Gomadic to Create a Viable and 'Green' Accessories for 'iPhone Killers' Verizon Voyager and Sprint HTC Touch

By Calvin Azuri, TMCnet Contributing Editor

Gomadic Corporation has declared the discharge of their full collection of accessories to support Apple's newest competitors in the multi-media smartphone market. Verizon (News - Alert) Voyager and Sprint HTC Touch are already supported by products which include car chargers, wall chargers, and portable AA battery chargers. Gomadic is prepared to face the requirement that the new trend in screen-touch technology has formed.

"We were among the first to support the iPhone (News - Alert) with less expensive and more flexible charging solutions and we're happy to be among the first to support these new technologies as well,” said Gomadic President Don Cayelli, in a press release. “Both smartphones offer a viable alternative to the iPhone-especially for folks who don't want to commit to AT&T (News - Alert), which is what the free market is all about.”

TipExchange is a known technology of Gomadic Corporation which permits users with an exclusive flexibility. Gomadic was recently featured in INC.com as one of the forerunners in the emerging iPhone economy and remain dedicated to innovate the industry. TipExchange enables users to simply take out and restore the tip of their charging solution with each new device or upgrade.

The ‘iPhone killer’ (as it has become known throughout the mainstream media and blogosphere), the Voyager, and its non-Apple (News - Alert) complement the HTC Touch, offer an extensive selection of options that will make for true competition for the iPhone -- which also means big opportunities for the mobile accessory makers who support these devices.

However, with all of these new and disposable technologies flooding the market, environmentalists are concerned about its impact on the climate disaster. Gomadic, though, boasts more ecological and thus greener solution to other accessory providers.

"Instead of buying a new charger for each new device in a household, our tip exchange concept basically allows users to keep the same charging cable for all their devices by simply recycling the small, lightweight tips,” Cayelli said. “This means less energy expended making new chargers and wires and less energy used to dispose of them. So besides reduced cost and more convenience, going Gomadic means reducing the carbon imprint that all of these disposable devices create, making it a win-win for everyone."
