AOL and StubHub Extend Their User Experiences and Brands on Mobile Devices with uLocate's WHERE

By Raju Shanbhag, TMCnet Contributing Editor

WHERE, the world’s first mobile GPS widget platform has announced that additional content has been added to its leading platform, offering users further opportunities to customize their mobile lifestyles. As more and more customers are attracted by the capabilities of wireless products and services, AOL (News - Alert) and StubHub become two companies that have debuted WHERE widgets within the past 30 days.

StubHub, an eBAY company, is the largest ticket marketplace in the world. Tickets for a vast selection of sporting, concert, theater and other live entertainment events can be bought and sold by the fans at fair market value. The StubHub widget on WHERE makes the process of gettingthe tickets easier by letting the fans know about the latest events in the town. Users can then access StubHub’s telesales agents and can order tickets immediately.

AIM® Buddy Finder widget on WHERE was recently launched on AOL’s AIM service. Users can set and share their locations with their AIM buddies from their GPS-enabled phones. Using the AIM Buddy Finder widget, users can see the location on a MapQuest map of friends who've chosen to share their locations. This new widget opens up new opportunities AIM to reach into mobile social networking and being the first cross carrier, this mobile friend finding application is capable of making millions of users connect to each other.

According to a press release, Walt Doyle, CEO of uLocate Communications said, “The AIM and StubHub widgets on WHERE represent significant milestones in our commitment to provide users with content that helps them make the most of their mobile lifestyles. The choices of content available on WHERE continues to grow and we look forward to working with more top-tier brands to bring their content to WHERE in the coming months.”

The partnership between AIM Buddy Finder and StubHub widgets showcases the limitless possibilities of location-enabled content in the wireless market. With this launch, customers can also get a single source for multiple applications from brands consumers trust.
