Telco Systems’ metro Ethernet solution, T-Metro, is an Ethernet access switching platform that delivers intelligence, cost savings, flexibility and a variety of the converged IP and TDM services.
The MPLS-based, carrier-class T-Metro is designed to deliver a wide range of managed Ethernet, VPN, and legacy TDM services from Ethernet access rings to customers’ premises, and was developed to enable all incumbent and emerging service providers to reduce operational and capital costs and increase revenue streams.
The new platform, which is NEBS level 3 compliant, assures carrier-grade services with its fault tolerance and capability to establish Hierarchical Quality of Service (HQoS) attributes and define and manage Service Level Agreements (SLAs) throughout the network for each customer and service.
The T-Metro also acts as either an edge device that interconnects with both a traditional PSTN TDM circuit-switched network and IP/MPLS core network or as an integral part of the MPLS network. It supports a wide variety of interfaces including copper and fiber-based fast Ethernet, Gigabit Ethernet, as well as T1/E1 Circuit Emulation interfaces.
