The WIP 2 from Zultys is a wireless (Wi-Fi) IP phone that delivers the full functionality of a desktop business phone in a mobile format, providing connectivity as users roam throughout an enterprise.
WIP 2 supports all PBX features and includes presence for improved availability notification, instant messaging, conferencing, speech encryption and zone paging (single button “push-to-talk”). Built entirely on open standards, the phone is compatible with any IP telephony system using Session Initiation Protocol (SIP), providing tremendous interoperability and flexibility in telephony system deployments. The phone runs on a highly stable, real-time Linux operating system and works on any standard 802.11b wireless network.
The WIP 2 has a full 8 hours of talk time (12 hours standby) and can be a user’s primary office phone, alleviating the need for a wired desktop set. The WIP 2 incorporates Zultys’ patented jitter buffer for superior speech quality, even under network conditions that are not ideal. In speakerphone mode, full duplex acoustic echo cancellation (AEC) ensures optimal sound quality.
