Packet Island’s PacketSmart solution is a SaaS-based solution that addresses VoIP manageability problems in the SME market. Using the solution, a VoIP expert sitting at the office of a VoIP service provider or VAR, hundreds of miles away from the SME, can gain complete and continuous visibility into every aspect of all live VoIP calls within that SME’s network.

PacketSmart, which is an application server cluster that runs on Linux servers, provides high performance data analysis, correlation, and archival, making the results available for visualization via a powerful GUI.

The Packet Island solution consists of inexpensive 4x4 micro-appliances deployed in each SME network in either in-line or sniffing mode. These devices perform passive monitoring of all live VoIP calls and upload key troubleshooting information to PacketSmart, a SaaS platform that is hosted at a data center.

With the ability to scale to support tens of thousands of SME networks, PacketSmart is the industry’s first SaaS solution that makes it possible for service providers and VARs to offer VoIP Service management and VoIP SLA management as a subscription service to the SME market.
