Empirix’s Hammer DEX is a VoIP and IMS device emulation platform that enables Network Equipment Manufacturers (NEMs) and infrastructure vendors to accelerate testing cycles and get new products and services to market faster.
Hammer DEX is the first test solution that provides a variety of “out-of-the-box” network device emulations on a single platform that can be customized for specific test scenarios. This allows NEMS to conduct interoperability, regression and load testing without incurring the substantial costs of building out a full network infrastructure in their labs.
The Hammer DEX platform provides device templates for a wide range of VoIP device types including gateway controllers (MGCP/H.248); trunking gateways(MGCP/H.248); SIP proxies; signaling gateways; session border controllers; media servers; and residential,/access gateways. Hammer DEX is initially focused on passive, non-endpoint VoIP device emulation and is available both as a low-capacity, single user integrated product and as a high-capacity multi-user distributed version. Hammer DEX supports multiple VoIP protocols including SIP, MGCP, NCS, H.248 (Binary/ASCII) and H.323.
