Version 4.5 of SightSpeed’s award winning services comes complete with a series of new innovative community tools and features.

SightSpeed’s “community” features a public directory, advanced video publishing and improved safety tools that represent an expanded strategic direction for the company: that of augmenting its core communications services with the most innovative video-centric community, content and commerce features available today.

SightSpeed’s free public community directory supplements each user’s existing directory of private contacts and enables participating users, for the first time, to meet and make video and voice calls with any other SightSpeed user around the world.

Also new is SightSpeed’s video publishing option. This feature provides users with the ability to simply record, store, and generate a web URL for posting video recordings to blogs and websites. This addition marks SightSpeed’s first step down the path in the user generated content sector, enabling users to easily and intuitively record, store, produce and publish original video content from within SightSpeed.

In conjunction with these new community and content features, version 4.5 sports a set of improved safety and privacy features, including advanced call blocking, user created public identity and enhanced parental controls, the last of which SightSpeed deems to be important for community related content contributors and users alike. In addition, version 4.5 has a sleeker and cleaner user interface that offers users a more friendly and intuitive design and advanced Web 2.0 features.

SightSpeed has added Macromedia’s Flash file format for its content creation and playback features such as video mail recording and playback. This makes for an easier playback experience across operating systems and browsers, Internet Explorer, Opera, Mozilla, Firefox and others and on the leading operating systems in use today, Windows, Macintosh, Linux, and Pocket PC.

Version 4.5 also integrates advanced echo and noise reduction technologies, making for a richer and more compelling audio experience. It also adds support of Linux firewalls that are increasing with the deployment of popular wireless home routers.
