While employee self-service has historically only been available to employees with access to a PC, Kronos Incorporated is allowing all types of employees to take advantage of this benefit. In fact, more than 1.5 million employees worldwide use Kronos’ biometric data collection terminal – the Kronos 4500 Touch ID terminal.
Much more than a time clock, the Kronos terminals have an intuitive ATM-like interface that helps employees work smarter and dynamically interact with important information such as time and labor data, scheduling information, and leave balances. Employees can also access email messages from their managers at these terminals, helping organizations streamline communications.
The Kronos terminals also use finger-scan technology rather than finger print, allowing organizations to verify employees’ identities while maintaining employee privacy. And since every employee’s finger is unique, using finger-scan biometrics as a way of verifying employee identity can be an effective method for preventing employees from “buddy punching” and other unauthorized labor transactions.
Also, understanding that privacy concerns become a growing issue for organizations, Kronos has worked to ensure that its terminals help prevent unauthorized users from accessing or viewing someone else’s personal information. It verifies employees’ identities before they submit or view their time and labor data.
