The ShowStation IP conference projector enables interactive, realtime
sharing of information in almost any format with the ease and convenience of an overhead
projector. Utilizing ShowStation IPs XGA-resolution color camera, color images can
be instantly transmitted to remote sites, enabling all participants to clearly view the
same materials at the same time. Meeting participants at any number of sites can use
ShowStation IPs electronic pen to write, draw, highlight, and erase on the
units display, just as with an overhead transparency, and all the notes are
immediately visible to all sites simultaneously. ShowStation IP reads Microsoft Office
97 files, so users can load and store presentations directly from ShowStation IPs
floppy drive. You can also attach a local PC to ShowStation IP with a serial cable and
share information using common software such as Microsoft NetMeeting. Attach a printer,
and you can make hard copies of any edits or additions to your materials made during the
meeting. ShowStation IP connects to remote sites that have either ShowStations or PCs via
the Internet, corporate Intranets, and analog phone lines. It can host multipoint
conferences with up to 10 sites without an additional bridging service.
ShowStation IP is available in North America this month, at a starting list price of
$12,999. ShowStation IP will be available in Europe and Asia Pacific on a
country-by-country basis beginning this month. For more information, contact the company
at 800POLYCOM or visit the companys Web site at www.polycom.com.

Sixth Sense, AnswerSofts flagship product, automates agent workflows
throughout the lifespan of a customer call, increasing customer retention while improving
agent productivity and call center profitability. Sixth Sense analyzes every call in real
time, using the phone number (ANI, Caller ID), number dialed (DNIS), and any digits
captured from the VRU or IVR to determine the callers identity and needs. Sixth
Sense takes action based on user-defined rules. It reaches into databases across the
enterprise and retrieves data while launching and navigating multiple applications. Agents
automatically receive the data and applications they need on their desktop to service the
caller. Sixth Sense has a robust, easy-touse scripting language that enables users to
tailor automation and make quick modifications as changes emerge in policies, programs,
and product mix. By writing scripts based on different sets of business rules, users can
readily customize the program, even to specific agent groups. Plus, the minimum client
configuration is cost-effective: a 486, 33 MHz processor, VGA color monitor, 16 MB RAM,
and 10 MB of free disk space complete the client set-up. Sixth Sense is currently
available for Lucent, Nortel, and Siemens environments. Future releases of Sixth Sense
will support additional PBX environments. For more information, contact AnswerSoft at

Excels Expandable Switching System (EXS) is a host-controlled,
distributed, programmable switching architecture. EXS uses a client/server architecture
where the link between the switch and the host is based on TCP/IP over Ethernet. A single
host can manage all switching nodes in an EXS; multiple hosts are also supported. EXNET
serves as the backbone for EXS. This dual counterrotating fiber ring technology utilizes
1.2 Gbps, 850 nm, multimode optics. Multiple levels of redundancy are inherent in EXNET.
Self-healing ring technology and auto-isolation protects against node, fiber, and
connector failures. EXNET ControllerI/O card-level redundancy ensures continuous service
in the event of an electronics failure on any individual EXNET Controller-I/O card set.
The EXS environment lets application developers implement applications costeffectively
across a wide range of port configurations with the assurance of seamless, incremental,
and economical growth as needed. Modular, common platform components further protect
system investments. Even upgrading from a stand-alone configuration to an integrated EXS
can be accomplished without impacting locally switched traffic. Other major features of
EXS include:
- Open programmable distributed environment.
- Non-blocking architecture across all nodes.
- Integration of individual platforms into a single logical switch.

APEX Voice Communications, Inc.

OmniVox 3.0.1 for Windows NT is a computer telephony and call processing
application development tool. New features include the Project concept of organizing
applications, complete SCSA (SCbus) compatibility, and for international customers,
support for Dialogics Global Tone Detection. This release gives developers added
features that simplify the creation of multi-tasking, multi-threaded applications, by
providing a fully objectoriented (C++) graphical service creation tool. APEX Voices
Project concept organizes applications and their associated call flows, voice recordings,
and output fields. With OmniVox 3.0.1, users can create applications with multiple call
flows and voice directories, all under a single project. Release 3.0.1s enhancements
include the ability to run a DNIS application on an ISDN line. The DNIS format is simple
ISDN, which tells the system that both the DNIS and ANI are being sent as
data, not tones. ANI passthrough has also been added. An incoming call with ANI, when
processed by the IVR and resulting in an outgoing (forwarded) call, will now carry the
original callers ANI with it. The callee can now know who is calling, even with a
call that has been forwarded by the IVR. OmniVox 3.0.1 also adds an online users
manual to the package. For more information, contact APEX Voice at 818-3798400, or visit
