Nextlink Intros 30Mbps Wireless Metro Ethernet Services Offering

By Anuradha Shukla, TMCnet Contributing Editor

Nextlink Wireless (News - Alert) has launched a new, 30Mbps wireless metro Ethernet services offering for carrier reseller partners.

This expansion of Nextlink’s Wireless Metro Ethernet Services speed options will enable carriers to offer a mid-range Ethernet solution to businesses that require faster network throughput, but may not be ready for a full 100Mbps Ethernet networking solution. The company informs that this new higher speed Ethernet service is now available in all Nextlink operational markets to partners that are leveraging Nextlink’s "Self-Serve" option.

Nextlink CEO Robert Beran said in a statement that Metro Ethernet is quickly becoming the networking method of choice. Their fixed wireless capabilities enable carriers to offer Ethernet solutions beyond the reach of today's fiber networks. With Nextlink’s expanded Ethernet speeds, their partners now have the ability to address the gap between 10 and 100 Mbps offerings.

Carriers can use Nextlink Wireless Metro Ethernet Services to capitalize on broadband wireless as an alternative access option for their customers' "middle mile" and "last mile" network connectivity requirements to support any IP-based applications.

Through their Nextlink Reseller Program, Nextlink allows carriers to package carrier-grade, high-speed wireless alternative access with their own data services, private line and other managed network services. By taking advantage of Nextlink's licensed spectrum in 81 major markets program partners can reach more customers than ever before-faster and less expensively than most copper- or fiber-based solutions.

The Nextlink Reseller Program allows partners options to efficiently manage their financial and network resources. They can also expand high-speed service offerings locally, regionally or nationwide.

Based on partners’ business requirements and capabilities, the Nextlink Reseller Program offers two alternatives: The Self-Serve Plan and the Turnkey Plan. The first plan is tailored for partners who want to operate and manage the wireless service offering on an end-to-end basis. The Turnkey Plan is designed for partners who want to focus on marketing, sales and customer account management only.

Nextlink, a subsidiary of XO Holdings (News - Alert), Inc., provides alternative access, backhaul and diverse network solutions and services for the carrier, business and government markets.
