Truecaller Partners with Microsoft to Introduce Personalized Voice Feature

By Stefania Viscusi June 03, 2024

Truecaller has announced a new partnership with Microsoft (News - Alert) to enhance its AI Assistant by integrating Microsoft's Azure AI Speech technology; specifically, the new Personal Voice feature. Launched in September 2022, Truecaller’s AI Assistant already harnesses various AI technologies to automatically answer phone calls, screen calls, take messages, respond on your behalf, and record calls for later review.

Now, through this integration of Microsoft Azure AI Speech’s Personal Voice, Truecaller users can create a digital version of their own voice which can be used by the Assistant. This means callers will hear an authentic replication of the user’s voice rather than a standard digital assistant voice.

Company officials said the feature is being gradually rolled out across all Truecaller markets.

“By integrating Microsoft Azure AI Speech’s personal voice capability into Truecaller, we've taken a significant step towards delivering a truly personalized and engaging communication experience," said Raphael Mimoun, Product Director and General Manager, Truecaller Israel. "The personal voice feature allows our users to use their own voice, enabling the digital assistant to sound just like them when handling incoming calls. This groundbreaking capability not only adds a touch of familiarity and comfort for the users but also showcases the power of AI in transforming the way we interact with our digital assistants."

“We're thrilled to collaborate with Microsoft on this exciting project and leverage their expertise in text-to-speech and AI technologies," Mimoun added. "The seamless integration process and the exceptional support provided by the Microsoft team have been instrumental in bringing this feature to life."

The inclusion of Personal Voice is expected to not only transform how Truecaller users manage their calls, offering a more personalized and seamless experience, but Truecaller also anticipates that this innovation will elevate user interaction and satisfaction with their AI Assistant.
