Enxoo Changes Status Quo of Wholesale Carrier Sector with API Hub

By Greg Tavarez October 13, 2023

Digitalization, not to state the obvious, impacts a wide range of industries. E-commerce and retail have experienced a huge surge in online sales and customer analytics, while healthcare has harnessed digital tools for telemedicine, electronic health records and data-driven diagnostics.

Manufacturing has embraced smart factories and automation, and finance has witnessed the rise of fintech, mobile banking and algorithmic trading. Education has leveraged digital platforms for remote learning, and entertainment has evolved with streaming services and virtual reality experiences.

There is, however, an industry that has been overlooked when it comes to digitalization. That is the wholesale carrier sector. As the industry shifts toward NaaS, faces the disruption from OTT players and hyperscalers, and continues to separate infrastructure and service layers, it is time to change the status quo.

Spearheading that initiative is Enxoo and its Enxoo API Hub, a solution designed to revolutionize the way connectivity providers engage in automated, industry standard-driven buying and selling processes.

Enxoo provides telecommunications-specific digital transformation solutions based on Salesforce technology with a mission to provide a combination of solutions and consulting services to optimize sales cycles, support growth and revenue, and improve operational processes.

The Enxoo API Hub, leveraging Salesforce and MuleSoft, aims to empower service providers by streamlining the adoption of industry-standard APIs for buying and selling connectivity services. It aligns closely with the MEF (News - Alert)'s framework for digital service providers, enabling them to develop, monetize, and scale services within an interconnected ecosystem by implementing open standard LSO APIs, particularly the Lifecycle Service Orchestration, or LSO, framework.

A side note: MEF is a global industry association comprising network, cloud, and tech providers working collaboratively to advance network transformation for the digital economy. They create service standards, LSO frameworks, APIs and certification programs for services, technologies, and professionals.

The Enxoo API Hub also allows network sellers to easily share their network capabilities with partners through a self-serve API channel, eliminating the need for manual processes and automating serviceability and quoting requests. This system integrates with existing BSS/OSS applications, acting as a flexible overlay that connects with internal technology and presents it in an LSO API-compliant format to external parties, simplifying the process and enhancing efficiency.

The standout feature of Enxoo API Hub is its platform-centric approach that streamlines API development with a declarative philosophy, enabling the creation of APIs with clicks, not code. This accelerates time-to-market and offers unprecedented flexibility, setting Enxoo API Hub apart as an industry game-changer.

"Having worked with many carriers, especially smaller ones, we've felt their struggle with the adoption of industry standards,” said Maciej Simm, Head of the Innovation Pillar at Enxoo. “That's why we've decided to package them into an 'as-a-service' offering, providing a ready-made blueprint to jump-start the process."
