During his tenure, he held various critical roles, including Director of the Department of Defense's intelligence heaquarters. His exceptional leadership and strategic vision significantly contributed to the defense capabilities of the nation. Furthermore, Rear Admiral (Ret.) Hayano has been an influential figure in Japan's Ministry of Defense. His extensive network within the ministry led to his appointment as a member of the expert committee on Cyber Security, where he played a pivotal role in shaping the country's cybersecurity policies. In April 2011, after a distinguished career in the JMSDF, Rear Admiral (Ret.) Hayano retired.
