GPR Appoints Dr. Ingo Stuermer to Advisory Board Following Recent Series A Funding Announcement

GPR, Inc., the world's only provider of Ground Positioning Radar™, has appointed Dr. Ingo Stuermer to its Advisory Board. Stuermer is a Senior Automotive Executive who, until recently, was Senior Vice President of ADAS/AD at Cariad SE, where he led Volkswagen's and Bosch's software alliance for Level 2 and Level 3 automated driving.

"GPR solves so many problems that we're currently facing in creating reliable solutions for assisted driving and higher levels of autonomy," Stuermer said. "Imagine you're driving on snow-covered roads, through heavy rain or even thick fog. When you have no way of ensuring that you know your exact current position, you are lost. I'm very excited to be joining GPR at a time when the product has matured to its first commercial generation and the company is in negotiations for several production program awards. My aim is to be a facilitator for GPR, particularly with German and European customers which have a strong history of safety an reliability and will need solutions like GPR's to maintain their leading position."

"Ingo is a great complement to our existing market traction. We're very excited to have found such a strong advocate for our technology in the European market," said Moran David, CEO of GPR. "I am very encouraged by Ingo's conviction about GPR being the missing piece in sensor modality for everything that moves autonomously. Operating a 3,000-lb car driving 65 mph autonomously is no easy task with potentially grave consequences, even with the slightest lapse of sensory performance. GPR's accuracy and reliability are paramount for the safe deployment of autonomous vehicles."

GPR recently announced it had secured an undisclosed amount of Series A funding led by top technology investor Rhapsody Venture Partners.

GPR's technology enables precise - centimeter-level - vehicle localization in all visibility circumstances. Precise localization is an unresolved issue for vehicles in limited visibility environments such as snow, heavy rain and fog, and in unstructured environments such as mining sites, sidewalks, ports, tarmacs, etc. Currently, Global Navigation Satellite Systems (GNSS) sensors are complimented with cameras and Lidar systems to overcome the GPS limitations, but these systems rely on clear above ground visibility. GPR is unique in its approach to look underground, scanning the ground below the road and creating a 3-D map of the road's unique subsurface signatures. This map then allows reliable and precise localization,

About GPR

Founded in 2017, GPR, formerly known as WaveSense, is pioneering the highest-performing localization solution for autonomous capabilities through its Ground Positioning Radar™. As the world's most reliable vehicle positioning system, GPR allows vehicles to determine their precise location with centimeter-level accuracy, no matter how challenging road conditions become. Whether on-road in conditions such as unmarked roads, poor weather, urban canyons, off-road, or even underground, vehicles fitted with Ground Positioning Radar™ deliver a more robust, higher quality assisted, and autonomous driving experience that other sensors can't. GPR works closely with OEMs and Tier 1 partners to help vehicles safely navigate where current ADAS sensors, including lidar and camera-based systems, fall short.
