Shearman & Sterling Appoints New Co-Executive DirectorsGlobal law firm Shearman & Sterling announced the appointment of Geline Midouin and Robert Brown as Co-Executive Directors. The appointments follow the upcoming retirement of Kenneth Johnsen as Executive Director and Chief Operating Officer. Kenneth, who previously shared with the firm that he will retire at the end of Q1 2023, has dedicated the last 24-plus years of his career to Shearman & Sterling and has been an invaluable asset to the firm. After his official retirement he will continue to support the firm as an advisor. Geline, who joined Shearman & Sterling in early 2021 as Chief People Officer, will now serve as Co-Executive Director and Chief of Operations. In additionto serving as Co-Executive Director, Robert will continue to serve as Chief Commercial Officer, a position he has held for the past three years. They each have over 25 years of experience in senior leadership roles at leading global organizations. In her new role, Geline will be accountable for the firm's Human Resources function which includes Legal Recruiting and Professional Development, Diversity and Inclusion, Marketing and Communications, Technology, Operations and Real Estate. Robert will be accountable for Business Development, Executive Business Management, Knowledge Management and Client Value, and Finance.
