Sevco Security Delivers Continuous Asset Inventory Monitoring with Enhancements to Asset Correlation Engine

Sevco Security, the cloud-native security asset management platform for enterprises that require an accurate IT inventory, today announced enhancements, including new capabilities for its Asset Correlation Engine, that enable customers to continuously monitor changing asset inventories across disparate silos of information. New capabilities also enable security teams to automatically surface security gaps across siloed tools.

With its groundbreaking Asset Correlation Engine, Sevco's platform is the first in the industry that can automate the process of aggregating and reconciling IT assets across the entire enterprise, allowing users to understand how changes within their dynamic, ever-changing asset inventory impact their security posture.

"A comprehensive asset inventory is critical, serving as the foundation of every security program. However, deriving a comprehensive unified asset view is deceivingly complex given the number of tools used by modern enterprises," said J.J. Guy, co-founder and CEO of Sevco Security. "It's not enough to simply connect those tools and information silos. In order to achieve a comprehensive and accurate asset inventory, you need to correlate those tools by combining aggregation with reconciliation. This is an overlooked issue that is creating a lot of problems for IT and security teams."

Organizations using a configuration management database (CMDB) must develop their own reconciliation rules and maintain them over time. Sevco'scloud-native platform, which integrates with existing tools via native APIs, automates that process, breaking down information silos to ensure that all IT assets are tracked and correlated.

Sevco maintains the responsibility to stay current on the information that is ingested from each source and continuously monitoring the correlation accuracy. As a result, enterprises have a more accurate and comprehensive view of their IT asset inventory and how it is changing over time.

Additionally, new asset tagging capabilities allow users to tag and group critical assets together (employee owned BYOD assets, office locations/regions, etc). Rather than spending time searching for these security and compliance gaps across multiple siloed tools, IT and Security teams can now leverage Sevco to automatically surface them, saving teams time and enabling them to focus their efforts on remediation.

The latest Sevco platform release includes significant new features and capabilities, including:

  • Asset geolocation: Using the intelligence gathered from all customer data sources, Sevco provides an accurate distribution of customer assets across the globe, with the ability to filter by region, domain, OS platform, and more.
  • More powerful search with nested queries: An enhanced search query builder with the ability to build more complex queries allows users to execute more detailed searches. Nested queries are now fully supported, with the ability to group and nest queries.
  • Expanded device details: In device details, Sevco now provides the ability to select and view the attributes coming directly from each source. The platform now collects and presents expanded attributes from each source.
