Olympia Trust Company President Craig Skauge Appointed President of Private Capital Markets Association

Olympia Financial Group Inc. ("Olympia") (TSX:OLY) is pleased to announce that Olympia Executive Vice President Craig Skauge has been appointed President of the Private Capital Markets Association of Canada ("PCMA"). The PCMA is a not-for-profit association originally founded in 2002 by a group of Canadian business professionals whose firms were active in the exempt securities market.

The membership of the PCMA is comprised of over 300 member firms including:

  • Firms registered as exempt market dealers with securities regulators in one or more jurisdictions in Canada and the dealing representatives of those firms;
  • Exempt market issuers; and
  • Professional advisers and service providers to the exempt market, including lawyers, accountants, compliance advisers, shareholder advisers, corporate communications advisers, investment professionals, and others.

In 2011, Craig founded the Wesern Exempt Market Association, which subsequently renamed itself the National Exempt Market Association ("NEMA"). In 2018, the National Exempt Market Association and PCMA merged to become a single voice for Canadian private capital markets. Since the merger, Craig has sat on the board of directors of the PCMA and has served as Vice Chair for the past year.

Craig's new position with the PCMA further entrenches him as a leader and advocate of the Canadian private capital markets, which Olympia has served for the past 25 years through its Registered Plans division and more recently through its Exempt Edge division.
