ADP Canada National Employment Report: Employment in Canada Decreased by 240,800 Jobs in September 2020

TORONTO, Oct. 15, 2020 /CNW/ -- Employment in Canada decreased by 240,800 jobs from August to September according to the September ADP^® Canada National Employment Report.  Broadly distributed to the public each month, free of charge, the ADP Canada National Employment Report is produced by the ADP Research Institute^®.  The report, which is derived from actual ADP payroll data, measures the change in total nonfarm payroll employment each month on a seasonally-adjusted basis.

"The labour market continued to post a decline in employment," said Ahu Yildirmaz, vice president and co-head of the ADP Research Institute. "The biggest job losses were in the trade, transportation and utilities; education and healthcare; and manufacturing sectors."

The August total of jobs added was revised from -205,400 to -770,600.

The October 2020 ADP Canada National Employment Report will be released at 8:30a.m.ET on November 19, 2020.
