Effect of COVID-19 Pandemic on Washington-area Economy Is Focus of April 2 Webinar Presented by Northern Virginia EDA and Chamber PartnersHow the novel coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic will affect the Washington, D.C.-area economy is the focus of an April 2 live webinar to be presented by the Northern Virginia Economic Development Alliance (NOVA EDA). Jeannette Chapman, director of the Stephen S. Fuller Institute at George Mason University, will present findings of the institute's first report on the pandemic. The webinar will run from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. Eastern time. Click here to register for the free event. Alx Iams, executive vice president of the Fairfax County Economic Development Authority (FCEDA), will follow Chapman to describe local, regional, state and federal resources available to help businesses affected by the coronavirus emergency. The Northern Virginia Chamber of Commerce and the Virginia Chamber of Commerce are partners in this event. "We know the COVID-19 pandemic is going to take an unprecedented toll on the Washington-area economy, just as it will on regional economies around the globe, and businesses need to understand that impact as they decide how they will respond to it," said Victor Hoskins, president and CEO of the FCEDA.
