Kord Technologies Wins 2019 ASMDA Technical Achievement Team AwardKord Technologies, a Centauri company, was awarded the 2019 Air, Space and Missile Defense Association (ASMDA) Technical Achievement Team Award for their leadership in directed energy. Kord was specifically recognized for its efforts to realign directed energy capabilities from the science and technology community for combat use. The ASMDA annual award highlights a group's tremendous accomplishments in air, space or missile defense activities with organizations such as the Missile Defense Agency, the United States Army Space and Missile Defense Command and the U.S. Army Aviation and Missile Life Cycle Management Command. In 2019, Kord Technologies was contracted to deliver a directed energy laser weapon system prototype on Stryker combat vehicles. Th company is currently leading the U.S. Army Maneuver Short Range Air Defense (M-SHORAD) Directed Energy initiative to equip American Soldiers with laser capabilities that can counter and defeat Unmanned Aerial System (UAS) threats.
