Red River Bank to Award $7,500 Grant to Louisiana Neighborhood OrganizationRed River Bank will award $7,500 to the GAEDA Revitalization Corporation (GRC), which the organization will use to further its mission. Red River Bank received the 2019 CARE Award in October from the Federal Home Loan Bank of Dallas (FHLB Dallas). An acronym that stands for "Community Area Revitalization Efforts," the CARE Award recognizes Red River Bank's commitment to affordable housing and community revitalization. As part of the award, Red River Bank received $7,500 to donate to support a community-based organization of its choice. The media is encouraged to join local dignitaries and bank representatives at a check presentation at 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday, December 3, at Red River Bank's offices at 1412 Centre Court Drive, 3rd Floor Board Room in Alexandria. Since opening in 1999, Red River Bank has leveraged $9.1 million in FHLB Dallas grants and community investment funds to assist 530 households. Programs include down payment and closing cost assistance for first-time homebuyers, affordable housing grants for the construction of housing for elderly and other special-needs households and housing repair and rehabilitation assistance for veterans.
