Cocrystal Pharma Presents Data at the 26th International Symposium on Hepatitis C Virus and Related Viruses- Novel class of HCV antivirals targeting the NS3 helicase that can be studied for the treatment of chronic HCV infection developed utilizing Company’s unique structure-based drug design platform technology - BOTHELL, WA, Oct. 08, 2019 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Cocrystal Pharma, Inc. (NASDAQ: COCP), (“Cocrystal” or the “Company”), a clinical stage biotechnology company discovering and developing novel antiviral therapeutics, today announced that Sam Lee, Ph.D., President of Cocrystal, presented positive data from its unique structure-based drug design platform technology at the 26th International Symposium on Hepatitis C Virus and Related Viruses (“HCV2019”) Conference being held on October 5-8, 2019 in Seoul, South Korea. As part of his poster presentation, Dr. Lee provided an overview of the Company's proprietary structure-based drug discovery technology which has demonstrated the ability to design and develop a high barrier to drug resistance and to be a highly potent, selective non-nucleoside inhibitor (NNI) that is active against all HCV genotypes (1-6) with low level cytotoxicity in multiple cell types. “Our unique structure-based platform technology has continued to bolster our confidence in its potential in the development of any antiviral drug. In January 2019, the Company announced safety and preliminary efficacy data from its triple regimen, U.S. Phase 2a study evaluating CC-31244 and Epclusa (sofosbuvir/vlpatasvir) for the ultra-short treatment of HCV infected individuals.
