Renee Alberty Joins Notarize Legal Team, Bringing Nearly a Decade of Industry Experience to Market Leader

Notarize, the leading online notary platform and the first company to enable an entirely digital mortgage process, today announced the appointment of Renee Alberty as Senior Counsel. Alberty previously served in various legal roles within the Rock Holdings Family of Companies, including Quicken Loans, Amrock, and most recently as General Counsel for Nexsys Technologies.

"Notarize is proud to lead the advocacy and promotion of remote online notarization, which has spurred one of the fastest adoptions of public policy in our country's history. We have now reached an inflection point: bringing this service at scale," said Notarize Founder and CEO, Pat Kinsel. "Renee has been an industry leader for years, and brings the knowledge and expertise to help us continue to move the market. We're thrilled to have her on board."

Digitizing real estate closings transforms how people borrow, sell, and buy their dream home. Alberty's expertise will help Notarize realize its mission to bring an end-to-end, digital closing experience to everyone, nationwide.

"Notarize has established itself as a clear market leader, marrying compliance, innovation, and security to one of the oldest, and most important processes in history," said Alberty. "I'm looking forward to continuing to advance the adoption of remote online notarization public policy, to provide consumers a convenient and intuitive experience to complete some of life's most important transactions."

Alberty joins the Notarize legal team, alongside General Counsel Michael Chodos, who has been instrumental in getting legislation passed in nearly half the country. Chodos, who previously served as the head of the Office of Entrepreneurial Development in the U.S. Small Business Administration under President Barack Obama, believes that Notarize is one of the few companies in a generation that has the opportunity to change history.

"We could not be more excited to have Renee join the Notarize team," said Chodos. "Renee is a pioneering leader in this field, with vast experience in bringing complex financial services into the digital age. Renee will be a powerful advocate for the opportunities Notarize is helping to create for consumers and businesses, now and in the future."

Just last week, Notarize was awarded a Housingwire Tech100 Award for product innovation, and the company recently named two new members to its board: Larry D'Angelo, Chief Sales Officer at LogMeIn (News - Alert), and Jack Klinck, former Executive Vice President and Head of Global Strategy at State Street.

The company plans to help facilitate more than $1 billion in real estate transactions this year alone, opening the market for a faster, more efficient homebuying experience.
