Highfive Partners With Okta to Bring Free Desktop and Web Video Conferencing Services to the Enterprise

SAN FRANCISCO, April 1, 2019 /PRNewswire/ -- Highfive and Okta, Inc., the leading independent provider of identity for the enterprise, today announced a new joint go-to-market partnership that will also include the delivery of free Highfive desktop and web video conferencing services with unlimited meetings to existing Okta customers. With its Single Sign-On (SSO), Okta customers will delight in seamless registration and login to experience Highfive's award-winning video conferencing platform. As part of the partnership, Okta customers will experience the market's leading WebRTC-based video conferencing platform at zero cost for an entire year. Highfive customers will be able to utilize the Okta platform for a frictionless user onboarding experience when provisioning user profiles and automating the provisioning of services.

As an Okta platform partner, Highfive has achieved Security Assertion Markup Language (SAML) compliance, which permits secure SSO without compromising user experience. Additionally, Highfive and Okta customers will be able to automate user provisioning and identity management within Okta's System for Cross-domain Identity Management (SCIM) platform and Okta Embedded Partnership for management within customer infrastructures.

As a company that shares Highfive's innovative vision and commitment to delivering the best experience and great value to its customers, Okta considers Highfive an ideal fit for Okta's world-class customers.

"Okta strives to provide businesses with the freedom to choose any technology they want to be successful, and we're excited to bring another partner into Okta Partner Connect," said Patrick McCue, Senior Vice President of Worldwide Partners at Okta. "Leveraging the Okta Identity Cloud, customers get secure access to Highfive, along with a robust suite of services and applications that deliver high-quality business communication outcomes. We look forward to expanding and deepening our partnership in the future."

Highfive fervently believes that high-quality, reliable video conferencing—from the desktop to web to meeting rooms—should be available to every company without having to manage individual user licenses. As users of desktop and web conferencing continue to drive wider adoption into meeting rooms, they prefer a more seamless trnkey system that allows them to walk in and simply start a meeting with one click and without the need to bring their laptop or other device to connect. Yet, expanding the desktop and web conferencing experience into meeting rooms has been a challenge, hamstrung by cost, complexity and disparate technology from legacy vendors who continuously try to cobble together solutions that still don't deliver what IT and users crave: easy, affordable solutions that adapt to any working environment.

According to a 2018 survey by Nemertes, more than 80% of meeting rooms across the enterprise still do not have video capabilities, and that number rises to 90% when adding small and medium-size huddle rooms into the mix. As businesses continue to transform in the digital age and fill these empty meeting rooms, they'll need cloud-based services from a trusted SaaS provider that are simple to procure, easy use, can scale with the changing demands of the business and, ultimately, just work the way they should.

Highfive is on a mission to make video conferencing ubiquitous and fill these empty meeting rooms with engaged, productive workers. To help accomplish their mission, the company has developed the industry's only integrated bundle to provide a complete video conferencing solution that includes all of its own hardware, software, enablement, support and services tied together with an affordable monthly per-room subscription. The Highfive model eliminates the need and additional cost of individual user licenses. And because Highfive was built on WebRTC, meetings start within the browser with no software download required. Every meeting starts on time with just a single click from any meeting room or any device.

Highfive Chief Revenue Officer Richard Borenstein says that making desktop and web video conferencing free for Okta customers is the first step in helping businesses to empower these empty meeting rooms and enabling ubiquitous video conferencing.

"As the only video conferencing solution running on AWS hyperscale cloud, with a focus on creating the most compelling high-end meeting room experience, Highfive is uniquely positioned to offer customers of Okta the most compelling video conferencing offer in the industry," said Borenstein. "We believe that Okta customers will delight in the Highfive free desktop and web experience, pushing adoption of Highfive intelligent meeting rooms. Together with Okta, this gives Highfive a unique advantage to democratizing video conferencing across the enterprise."
