Virtium Announces Growth with Addition of Two Vice Presidents


Virtium, a leading solutions provider of industrial solid-state drive (SSD) and memory solutions, today announced the addition of two vice presidents in the company's marketing and operations groups. Jacques Issa was named senior vice president of strategic marketing and Shane Mortazavi was appointed vice president of operations.

"The worldwide industrial solid-state storage and memory markets continue to place increasingly higher demands on product reliability, data protection and manufacturing efficiencies," said Phu Hoang, CEO. "Jacques and Shane each bring unique backgrounds and deep vision that will be vital to Virtium's growth, as we continue to focus sharply on the industrial embedded needs of our customers."

Issa comes to Virtium with two decades of experience in semiconductor technology and marketing. He recently partnered with several IoT security ventures and prior to that, served as vice president and business unit manager at Microsemi (News - Alert) Corp., heading large-scale industrial embedded usiness units. He holds both bachelor's and master's of science degrees in electrical engineering from Purdue University (News - Alert). Issa will be responsible for Virtium's expansion of embedded industrial module offerings across its targeted vertical markets.



Mortazavi has more than 25 years of experience in international manufacturing operations and supply chain management, with profit-and-loss responsibility, serving the electronics, commercial, aerospace, automotive, energy and telecommunications industries. He most recently held the position of vice president of global operations at Emcore, Inc., where he was responsible for global manufacturing, supply chain and logistics. Shane previously served as vice president of operations at a large enterprise-class SSD company, as well as operations-management positions at General Monitors and Thomas & Betts Corp. He holds a bachelor's of science degree (with honors) in industrial engineering and operations research and a master's of science degree in industrial engineering from the University of California, Berkeley. Mortazavi will be responsible for worldwide expansion of Virtium's production operations.
