MITRE Expands its Senior Leadership Team


MITRE announced several changes to its leadership team in support of the company's strategy and business transformation efforts, including one promotion and two new appointments. Effective March 4, Usha Chaudhary joins MITRE in the new role of Senior Vice President for Corporate Operations and Chief Transformation Officer, and Laurie Giandomenico joins as Vice President and Chief Acceleration Officer. Kathleen Federico was promoted to Senior Vice President and Chief Human Resources and Strategic Communications Officer.

Federico, who is based at MITRE's Bedford, Mass., campus, is being promoted to Senior Vice President and Chief HR and Strategic Communications Officer. She joined in June 2018 and has launched a vision an plan for empowering MITRE's workforce. Federico also will have responsibility for the Strategic Communications division. She has led human resources in several industries, shaping talent management, compensation, learning and development, and operations. Federico also served as CHRO at Civitas Solutions, a provider of home-based health and human services, and senior vice president of sales and human resources for World Travel Holdings, the world's largest cruise agency.



Chaudhary, who will be based at MITRE's McLean, Va., campus, joins in the new role of Senior Vice President, Corporate Operations and Chief Transformation Officer responsible for finance, enterprise computing information and security, corporate real estate, and corporate strategy development, as well as business transformation functions. She has extensive multi-disciplinary experience in the public, private, and not-for-profit sectors, most recently as the president and chief operating officer of Kettler, a leading national real estate developer. She has served in executive roles at The Pew (News - Alert) Charitable Trusts, The Washington Post, United Way of America, and Freddie Mac.

Giandomenico, who will be based at MITRE's Bedford, Mass., campus, joins as Vice President and Chief Acceleration Officer. In this role, she will be responsible for the company's strategic development and growth efforts and oversee brand strategy. She started her career at MITRE in 1991 as a member of the technical staff, and most recently led her own consulting firm. She has held multiple executive-level positions in enterprise software firms including EnerNOC Inc. and Pegasystems (News - Alert).
