New Data Shows Georgia Leading in Tech Employment, Innovation

ATLANTA, Feb. 12, 2019 /PRNewswire/ -- The Technology Association of Georgia (TAG), the state's leading association dedicated to the promotion and economic advancement of Georgia's innovation economy, has unveiled its 2019 State of the Industry: Technology in Georgia Report.

The report, revealed at TAG's The Summit event Feb. 11-12 at the Cobb Galleria in Atlanta, gives an annual assessment of the strengths and key issues within the technology sectors of Georgia.

Working in partnership with Porter Research, this year's report shines a light on the key elements of success for technology – Talent, Capital and Innovation.

Highlights of the report include:

• Georgia continues to be a top technology employment market
• Georgia's technology sector grew significantly faster than the US average and employs nearly 300,000 private sector tech employees
• Technology wages in the state have continued to increase – up 2.6% over last year, which is more than the increase seen from 2016 to 2017
• Capital invested in Georgia remained high - and the total number of deals was the second hghest since the report began tracking in 2012
