Ohio Virtual Academy Now Accepting Enrollments for 2019-2020 School Year

Ohio Virtual Academy (OHVA), an accredited, full-time online public school, welcomes students in K through 12 to enroll for the 2019-2020 school year.

With over fifteen years as a trusted education program, OHVA is tuition-free to all students who reside in Ohio. Authorized by the Ohio Council of Community Schools, and delivered entirely online, OHVA offers a personalized approach to learning, delivering rich, engaging curriculum designed to assist students who seek alternative pathways to education.

While working towards their high school diplomas, OHVA students can participate in the Destinations Career Program and discover exciting options for their future in career fields like Business and Information Technology.

They can also earn college credits through partnerships with local colleges and universities and prepare to take industry-recognized certification exams upon graduation.

"Some kids know exactly what they want to do with their lives, and some don't just yet. Our career program lets students try new things and get a sense for what they may want to do," says Head of School Dr. Kris Stewart. "By giving them early exposure to a variety of career options, we empower our students to shape their wn future."

Overall, OHVA offers challenging academic curriculum focused on college preparation. Students take a full course load in the core subjects of math, science, English language arts, history, art and music. Electives include world languages, as well as high school honors courses. OHVA also offers student clubs, in-person field trips, and social gatherings to foster a sense of school community.

Virtual classes are taught by Ohio-licensed teachers who provide instruction during live online class sessions, and are available to students via phone, email and one-to-one meetings.

Students choose online school for a variety of reasons including advanced learning, a bullying-free environment, and the ability to support extracurricular pursuits or medical needs. OHVA's online platform gives students the opportunity to pursue their academic goals in a supportive environment and at an appropriate pace for their learning style.

OHVA is now accepting enrollments for the 2019-2020 school year. Families are encouraged to attend an online or in-person information session hosted by the school. More information on OHVA, how to enroll, and a schedule of upcoming events can be found at ohva.k12.com.
