Ovum and OPAQ to Present Webinar on Security Vulnerabilities Introduced by Network Modernization

OPAQ, the network security cloud company, today announced that its Chief Strategy Officer, Kenneth Ammon and Rik Turner, Principal Analyst with Ovum (News - Alert), will present a webinar on February 12 that explains security vulnerabilities often introduced with network modernization and SD-WAN projects and how to close the gaps.

WHO:

Ken Ammon, Chief Strategy Officer for OPAQ, is a recognized expert in managed security, network security and government security. He served as Chief Strategy Officer at Xceedium, a privileged access management company until its acquisition by CA (News - Alert) Technologies, and founded managed security service provider (MSSP) pioneer NetSec which was acquired by MCI/Verizon Business. Ken has testified on security vulnerabilities affecting federal government IT infrastructure and data, and served as adjunct faculty at the National Cryptologic School, where he received the Scientific Achievement Award. He began his career in the U.S. Air Force, where he was a captain assigned to the U.S. National Security Agency (News - Alert).

Rik Turner, Principal Analyst, Infrastructure Solutions, Ovum, specializes in cybersecurity technology trends, IT security and compliance. He provides analysis and insight on market evolution and helps organizations determine what type of technology and vendors they should pursue. Rik has also worked in Ovum's Financial Services Technology team, with a specialization in capital markets technology. Prior to joining Ovum, he worked as a journalist for the Financial Times (News - Alert), The Economist and others.

WHAT:

A new wave of network transformation is being undertaken by companies of all sizes using software-defined approaches, including SD-WAN. While SD-WAN enables organizations to re-tool their networks for higher performance, greater flexibility and dramatically reduces MPLS costs, it also introduces new security vulnerabilities. In this webinar, experts from OPAQ and Ovum will explain the leading security threats introduced through SD-WAN network modernization, the risks they pose and best practices for implementing controls that close the gaps.
