Disco Launches on Microsoft Teams, Demonstrates that Recognition Increases Employee Satisfaction

Today Disco, a leading AI tool helping employers build a culture of appreciation and recognition, announced its finding that employee recognition is tied directly to employee net promoter scores (NPS), retention, and productivity. Additionally, Disco (formerly known as Growbot) is now available on Microsoft (News - Alert) Teams with new features that build strong cultures, celebrate employee achievements, and reinforce their core values, all without having to leave Teams. Disco is available to millions of users across major work communication chat platforms, including Teams, Google (News - Alert) Hangouts, and Slack.

More than 1,500 companies added Disco for their employees in October 2018 and Disco has seen more than 50% YoY growth in install rates over the last three years. This growth is due to more and more companies realizing the importance of culture, engagement, and employee recognition. According to SAP (News - Alert), a one percent increase in employee engagement resulted in an increase of €40-50M in SAP operating profit (SAP) and, according to Deloitte, 89 percent of companies that build a strong corporate culture outperform the S&P 500 by 8x. Disco is used by more than 40,000 companies, including Walmart, Condé Nastand Intuit (News - Alert) to improve employee retention and productivity through peer recognition. Companies that use Disco average a seven percent increase in their employee net promoter scores, meaning they're building a more connected, appreciated, and aligned workforce. Additionally, companies that set-up their core values with Disco see more than 60% of their entire company using their core values within the first 30 days. Unlike other rewards or points systems, Disco focuses on reinforcing the right behaviors at a company.

New features now available include:

  • Values: Using Disco, companies can assign a recognition emoji to each of their company values, guiding employee recognition to align with company priorities. Companies that set-up their core values with Disco see more than 60% of their entire company using their core values with Disco within the first 30 days.
  • Points: Disco can now reward employees with points for providing feedback as well as receiving positive feedback.
  • Broadcast Support: Now, Disco allows companies to broadcast wins and company values to connected displays and TVs around the office, helping to amplify recognition.
  • Employee Profile: Employees can now visit their personal profile to see a measurement, over time, of the recognition they've received.
  • Engagement Dashboard: For HR professionals and managers, Disco now offers a dashboard where they can see real-time employee engagement.

"From startups to Fortune 500 companies, like Microsoft, we are seeing companies make greater investments in culture and HR analytics," said Jeremy Vandehey, CEO and co-founder of Disco. "We believe that Disco is helping bring culture online and helping companies build an environment of positivity, which will be reflected in employee happiness, and ultimately higher quality of work."

Mike Ammerlaan, director, Microsoft Office 365 Ecosystem, Microsoft Corp. said, "Many organizations are looking for better ways to align people and core values with strategic business priorities. For organizations using Microsoft Teams, the integration with Disco helps bridge this gap, creating transparency that can foster a strong culture and recognize people for their great work."

Companies that prioritize employee engagement and appreciation solutions like Disco see a 31% reduction in voluntary employee churn (according to a Deloitte survey). Disco is encouraging employee engagement and appreciation by making it easy for employees to provide continuous feedback while using the communication tools they are already familiar with like Slack, Google Hangouts, and Teams.
