RiskSense CEO to Present New Approach for Assessing Industrial Threats at the 2018 ICS Cyber Security Conference USA
RiskSense®, Inc., pioneering
risk-based vulnerability prioritization and management, today announced
that its CEO, Srinivas Mukkamala, Ph.D. will present a session on using
an artificial intelligence-based approach for assessing cyber risk in
industrial environments at the SecurityWeek 2018 ICS Cyber
Security Conference USA in Atlanta, Georgia.

|
|
|
|
Dr. Srinivas Mukkamala, co-founder and CEO of RiskSense, is a
recognized expert on artificial intelligence (AI) and neural
networks. He was part of a think tank that collaborated with the
U.S. Department of Defense and U.S. Intelligence Community on
applying these concepts to cybersecurity problems. Dr. Mukkamala was
also a lead researcher for CACTUS (Computational Analysis of Cyber
Terrorism against the U.S.) and holds a patent on Intelligent Agents
for Distributed Intrusion (News - Alert) Detection System and Method of Practicing.

WHAT:
|
|
|
|
|
Industrial environments are increasingly being connected to IT
systems to optimize management, yet operational technology (OT)
networks lack even basic security controls. In this session,
"Assessing Device-based Risk to Secure ICS Environments," Dr.
Mukkamala will explain why conventional vulnerability management
and mitigation techniques are unable to address unique OT security
challenges. He will present a new approach which uses
human-assisted AI and machine learning to assess device-level risk
and vulnerabilities against potential exploit paths to dynamically
analyze threats and even predict cyber attacks. Dr. Mukkamala will
demonstrate how this model can prioritize remediation efforts to
protect critical industrial infrastructures against cyber threats.
