Government of Canada Invests in Expanding Market OpportunitiesQUEBEC CITY, Oct. 11, 2018 /CNW/ - Canadian wood is playing a key role in the growing global bioeconomy, helping to reduce greenhouse gas emissions and supporting the transition to a low-carbon economy. The Honourable Jean-Yves Duclos, Minister of Families, Children and Social Development, and Joël Lightbound, Parliamentary Secretary to the Minister of Finance, on behalf of Canada's Minister of Natural Resources, the Honourable Amarjeet Sohi, today announced over $700,000 in funding for the Quebec Wood Export Bureau (QWEB) to help bring Quebec wood products to global markets. The Quebec Wood Export Bureau is a non-profit organization created in 1996 whose mission is to develop export markets for wood products from Quebec, to ensure market access for these products and to promote the use of wood.
