Arthritis Foundation Selects Virtustream Enterprise Cloud to Host and Manage Its Mission-Critical Customer Relationship Solution in the Cloud

Virtustream, the enterprise-class cloud company and a Dell (News - Alert) Technologies business, today announced that the Arthritis Foundation has selected Virtustream to host and manage the Foundation's fundraising and relationship management solution for enterprise-level nonprofits on Virtustream Enterprise Cloud. The Arthritis Foundation is the leading nonprofit focused on funding education, access to care and scientific research on behalf of arthritis patients.

"Nonprofit and for-profit entities each have their own unique traits, but we do share a common requirement: To succeed, you must be data-driven," said Andy Gammuto, CIO, Arthritis Foundation. "We had specific and sophisticated needs in terms of how we wanted to manage and access our data. The modernization effort we began two years ago centers squarely on cloud computing. Hosting our fundraising and relationship management solution on our own was not a consideration. The Virtustream solution eliminated all on-premise and co-located servers, fitting perfectly into our plan. We hope that our decision to modernize by taking our powerful solutions to the cloud and embracing a transformative data intelligence strategy is a model that other enterprise nonprofits can copy and adapt for their specific purposes."

When evaluating solutions, the Arthritis Foundation prioritized cloud providers that could host and manage their fundraising and relationship management soution, which helps manage many of the most essential functions within the Arthritis Foundation's day-to-day operations. The Foundation also sought to update, monitor and analyze their data in real-time. Virtustream was able to meet the Arthritis Foundation's needs by building a cloud environment with strong security and compliance protocols in a cost-effective way.

Through Virtustream's Enterprise Cloud, the Arthritis Foundation has access to advisory services, economies of scale and consumption-based pricing models that allow their efforts to grow over time without necessitating dramatic changes to their own infrastructure. Virtustream also helps the Foundation meet stringent regulatory standards, rely on availability and disaster recovery capabilities, and see the performance of their entire environment down to the CPU through a variety of monitoring tools and performance dashboards.

"We take pride in the services we offer to all of our customers, but our work with nonprofits like the Arthritis Foundation is particularly meaningful to us," said Todd McNabb, SVP, Global Sales, Virtustream. "As the Foundation works hard to enhance the options available to those affected by this disease, they need strong support from their IT partners to make their efforts as efficient and effective as possible and we take that charge seriously."
