California Governor Appoints Xenco Medical CEO Jason Haider to California Workforce Development Board

California Governor Edmund G. Brown Jr. has appointed Xenco Medical Founder and CEO Jason Haider to the California Workforce Development Board. Under existing law, the California Workforce Development Board is the body responsible for assisting the Governor in the development, oversight, and continuous improvement of California's workforce investment system and the alignment of the education and workforce investment systems to the needs of the 21st century economy and workforce. Mr. Haider was appointed this week. Existing law prescribes specific tasks with which the board assists the Governor, including the development and updating of comprehensive state performance accountability measures, including state-adjusted levels of performance, to assess the effectiveness of the core programs in the state as required under specific federal law.

One primary responsibility of the State Board is to develop and implement, in close consutation with the Governor, a comprehensive and strategic workforce development plan for California. The State Plan serves as the comprehensive framework and coordinated plan for the aligned investment of all federal and state workforce training and employment services funding streams and programs. This mandate is both in federal and state law.

Since founding Xenco Medical, Jason Haider has led the company's efforts in developing the first entirely disposable spinal implant system made from a composite polymer instead of metal. Xenco Medical has pioneered a new category of surgical implant systems with its sterile-packaged spinal implants pre-attached to disposable delivery instruments. Outperforming reused implant systems in consistency, the risk of pathogen transmission, and in eliminating the expensive processes associated with the sterilization and transport of reprocessed instruments and implants, Xenco Medical's devices have been found to produce significant savings per surgery for hospitals and ambulatory surgery centers. Mr. Haider has also spearheaded the company's nationwide expansion as well as its presence in specialized surgical markets through the development of Xenco Medical's ASC (News - Alert) CerviKit platform for ambulatory surgery centers and the company's TraumaGPS mobile application for real-time delivery monitoring of emergency implant deliveries. Jason Haider is a member of the California Association for Local Economic Development.
