SiriusXM to Honor Legendary Comedian Robin Williams with Special Week of Programming


NEW YORK, Oct. 10, 2018 /PRNewswire/ -- Today SiriusXM announced a special week of programming honoring iconic actor and comedian Robin Williams. "The Genius of Robin Williams" featuring his funniest, classic performances and an original audio documentary, will premiere on Monday, October 15 at 10:00 a.m. ET on Comedy Greats channel 94.

Robin Williams was a beloved actor and comedian who delighted audiences the world over. SiriusXM will celebrate his legacy with a dedicated week of programming, each day showcasing his television specials, Grammy-winning albums, and rare interviews. These classic moments include Williams' HBO specials ranging from 1978 to 2009, as well as two rarely heard specials: "MGM Grand," a live 2007 performance from the famous Las Vegas hotel and casino, and "An Evening of Sit Down with Robin Williams and David Steinberg," a 2012 interview from the Durham Performance Arts Center in North Carolina.

Monday, October 15 will also mark the premiere of "Robin Williams: A Life in Comedy." The original audio documentary, hosted by SiriusXM's Ron Bennington, will air at 10:00 a.m. ET and feature commentary from fellow comedians and friends of Williams, including: Bobcat Goldthwait, Louie Anderson, Kevin Pollak, Jay Mohr, Gilbert Gottfried, Andrew Dice Clay, Tom Papa, Chris Gethard, Big Jay Oakerson, Ron White, Reggie Watts, Barry Crimmins, Rick Overton, David Steinberg, Paul Provenza, and Bobby Slayton.
