C Spire, Bash Brothers Media celebrate launch of new sports documentary TV series


JACKSON, Miss., Oct. 10, 2018 /PRNewswire/ -- News media are invited to attend a kick off celebration and reception at the Mississippi Sports Hall of Fame and Museum on Thursday for "Between the Pines," a new original sports television documentary series that chronicles the rich history, tradition and passion behind Mississippi's greatest sports stories.

C Spire and Bash Brothers Media will host a special reception at the Mississippi Sports Hall of Fame and Museum Thursday to kick off a new documentary TV series that will air on local television stations this fall that captures the history, rich tradition and passion around Mississippi's greatest sports stories.

C Spire is presenting sponsor of the program, which is the creation of Bash Brothers Media and whose first episode – the "University of South Panola" - airs on local television stations in Mississippi and Memphis this weekend telling the story of South Panola High School's rise to become one of the most famous high school football dynasties in U.S. history.

Producers are planning a special screening of an extended trailer for the first episode as well as a "sneak peek" trailer for the second episode called "The Vet," which shows how a single stadium – the Mississippi Veterans Memorial Stadium in Jackson – shaped society and college football for over six decades in the South. "The Vet" airs on selected stations on Nov. 13 and 14.

Much of the cast from the first episode as well as several cast members from the second episode will be on hand to share their perspective and thoughts about the significance and impact of the state's first ESPN 30 for 30-style series in sharing the state's greatest sports stories.

Some of the notable Mississippi sports legends and cast members expected to attend are former Clarion-Ledger sports editor and columnist Rick Cleveland, former Mississippi State quarterback John Bond, Eddie Payton Jr., former NFL player and brother of NFL great Walter Payton and former South Panola High School head football coach Lance Pogue.
