El Capitán Ink Introduces New Take on the "Box" Office Review

JACKSONVILLE, Fla., Oct. 8, 2018 /PRNewswire/ -- A long-time comic book artist is bringing his knack for creating memorable characters to YouTube with the new web series, "Mr. Box and Boogy's Mass Media Review."

In "Mr. Box and Boogy's Mass Media Review," artists Al and Javi Diaz of El Capitan Ink present the titular puppets, who take turns praising or savaging films with their "patented 'F.U.' rating system" (one star (FUBAR) to four stars (f@*#ing awesome!)). The series' first webisode, which has Mr. Box and Boogy waxing philosophical on the 2015 film "Everest," has already garnered over 80k views in its first few days on YouTube.

"My brother and I are always debating about movies and shows together," Al Diaz says. "This just gave us the chance to have some fun doing it for an audience. Plus, puppets!"

Those puppets pull no punches when it comes to reviewing media. Part Statler and Waldorf from the Muppets, part Aqua Teen Hunger Force with a dash of South Park, Mr. Box and Boogy don't mince words during their reviews (but hey do bleep some!). And as the title promises, Mr. Box and Boogy will tackle far more than big budget blockbusters as the series progresses.

"We didn't want to box ourselves in, no pun intended," laughs Diaz. "We want to be able to have Mr. Box and Boogy take on just about anything in pop culture – that's why it's a mass media review show, not just a film review show. They're well-rounded puppets. Especially Boogy."

Mr. Box and Boogy are available for interviews or guest appearances. To schedule an appearance, contact Al Diaz at [email protected]. More information can be found at www.mrboxandboogy.com.
