Sierra Wireless Showcases Latest Solutions for Public Safety at International Association of Chiefs of Police Annual Conference and Exposition 2018

Sierra Wireless (News - Alert) (NASDAQ: SWIR) (TSX: SW), the leading provider of fully integrated device-to-cloud solutions for the Internet of Things (IoT), today announced that the company will showcase its solutions for first responder communications and public safety at the International Association of Chiefs of Police (IACP) Annual Conference and Exposition 2018, which takes place October 6 - 9, at the Orange (News - Alert) County Convention Center in Orlando, Florida.

Sierra Wireless will exhibit in booth #421, demonstrating how the company is making police officers, communities and cities safer with:

  • Cloud-based advanced reporting and analytics platform: Sierra Wireless will showcase its new AirLink® Management Service - Advanced Reporting and Analytics (ALMS ARA) solution, with new features that enable organizations to manage their vehicle fleets using Sierra Wireless' industry-leading AirLink (News - Alert) gateways, routers and cloud-based management platform by providing a deeper level of actionable insight and analytics into vehicle use, driver behavior and fleet maintenance. Visitors can watch as the ALMS ARA monitors a live sample fleet and delivers real-time data and reports to a dashboard, showing vehicle stops, engine faults, improper driver behavior and more.
  • Industry's first in-vehicle router certified and approved for use on FirstNetTM: Sierra Wireless will showcase its FirstNet Ready AirLink MG90 In-Vehicle Router, which ensures that first responders stay connected - anywhere, over any network. The MG90 provides secure, reliable connectivity, giving police officers up-to-date information about emergency situations, so they can respond with the knowledge they need to act quickly and safely. The MG90 will create a Wi-Fi hotspot to connect all laptops and tablets in the booth, including the Panasonic Toughbook.
  • Panasonic Toughbook: Sierra Wireless will showcase the Panasonic Toughbook, a rugged laptop designed for emergency communications with Sierra Wireless embedded modules. Visitors will see how the IoT provides reliable communication during mission-critical situations to ensure public safety.
  • In-vehicle connectivity with dead reckoning: Sierra Wireless will showcase its FirstNet Ready AirLink MP70 In-Vehicle Router with inertial navigation, also known as dead reckoning. Dead reckoning technology gives agencies up-to-the-minute information on the location of police officers, even in dead zones like urban canyons. With insight into the number and exact location of police vehicles in any given area, agencies can more quickly and effectively dispatch officers. Visitors can watch a side-by-side comparison of vehicle tracking in an urban downtown environment using GNSS only versus GNSS with dead-reckoning.
