Toshiba Client Solutions Joins Sharp Group, Looks to a Positive Future
Toshiba Client Solutions Co. Ltd. (TCS) today becomes the newest member
of Sharp (News - Alert) group, following the completion of the transfer of 80.1% of its
stock from Toshiba Corporation to Sharp Corporation. Closure of the
transaction follows an announcement by Toshiba (News - Alert) and Sharp on June 5 this
year, and positions TCS to make a new beginning and promote its business
with the full resources and support of Sharp group.
Towards promoting early business expansion, ensuring effective and
timely decision making in the intricate, and fast changing ICT market,
and to promote close relations and strong synergies with Sharp, TCS has
put in place a new management team. Yoshihisa Ishida, the Vice President
of Sharp, joins the company as its new Chairman. Kiyofumi Kakudo, who
has guided TCS's recent revival, retains his position as President and
CEO.
Going forward, TCS will deploy its time-tested expertise in engineering
and product development, quality, and service support within the context
of Sharp's growth strategies, Sharp 8K and AIoT strategy. Drawing on
Sharp's world class technology portfolio, and strengths in procurement
and sales, TCS aims to maximize synergy with its new parent, and is
committed to delivering even more excellent products, solutions, and
