QTS Significantly Expands Carrier Neutral Connectivity Options for Customers

OVERLAND PARK, Kan., Sept. 28, 2018 /PRNewswire/ -- Responding to increasing demand for high performance networking and IT infrastructure services, QTS Realty Trust (NYSE: QTS), a leading provider of hybrid colocation and mega-scale data center solutions, today announced an agreement with Hurricane Electric, the world's largest IPv6-native internet backbone and the most interconnected IPv4 global network. The agreement expands IPv6 and IPv4 network connectivity across seven QTS data centers and campuses.  

The agreement with Hurricane Electric represents the latest step forward in QTS' multi-phased approach to expand its carrier-neutral network ecosystem and simplify customer network strategies by providing diverse connectivity for hybrid IT environments.

The agreement provides QTS customers with additional connectivity options and access to Hurricane Electric's extensive IPv6 and IPv4 network through 100GbE (100 Gigabit Ethernet), 10GbE (10 Gigabit Ethernet) and GigE (1 Gigabit Ethernet) ports. As a result, both new and existing customers will benefit from reduced latency and improving traffic flow and efficiency for end-users reliant on the Internet. It allows customers to extend network reach and exchange traffic directly with more than 7,300 different networks and over 180 major exchange points.
