Alvarez & Marsal Taxand Strengthens Global Transaction Tax Advisory Services with Addition of Seasoned Senior Directors


Alvarez & Marsal Taxand, LLC (A&M Taxand), an affiliate of leading global professional services firm Alvarez & Marsal (A&M), announces the addition of Senior Directors Jon de Jong and Louis Mancini. These appointments strengthen the firm's ability to advise businesses on global tax matters as they relate to business acquisitions, divestitures, reorganizations and strategic and private equity investments.

Mr. de Jong joins as a Senior Director with A&M Taxand in Denver. With over 20 years of experience advising one of the nation's largest closely-held corporations and its affiliates, Mr. de Jong focuses on global M&A tax advisory with respect to both strategic and private equity investments.

Mr. de Jong brings to each engagement the unique perspective of a professional who has led the in-house M&A tax function of a company regularly involved in transactions ranging from $10 million to more than $20 billion. By teaming with his clients' worldwide tax, legal, finance and accounting resources, he develops and helps implement risk-appropriate strategies that optimize results for all stakeholders in acquisitions, post-acuisition integrations, operations and divestitures.



Mr. Mancini joins as a Senior Director with A&M's Global Transaction Tax Advisory practice in New York. With more than 13 years of transaction tax experience, Mr. Mancini advises businesses on various state and local tax matters related to business acquisitions, divestitures and reorganizations. He focuses on tax due diligence, deal structuring, cash tax modelling and the integration of acquired businesses for state tax efficiencies.

Before joining A&M, Mr. Mancini was a Director in the mergers and acquisitions tax practice at PwC in New York, where he provided strategic tax counsel to private equity and corporate clients.


"Mr. de Jong and Mr. Mancini have decades of experience consulting on transaction tax issues, including identifying tax risks and developing tax efficient acquisition strategies, as well as in tax compliance and post-acquisition planning," adds Adam Benson, Managing Director with the Transaction Tax Advisory practice of A&M Taxand in New York.
