Sacramento Restaurateurs Cooking Up Another "Hair Brained" Initiative, Closing Down "L" Street to Make the Capital Region #1 in the U.S. for St. Baldrick's and Child Cancer Research

Keaton's Child Cancer Alliance, formerly known as Keaton Raphael Memorial, keeps the pipes, drums, and clippers going, raising funds for pediatric cancer research in a grand gathering organized by restaurateurs Henry and Simon deVere and Patrick Mulvaney. This installment of the ongoing duel between the deVere brothers and Mulvaney seeks to make northern California this year's #1 market in the U.S. for raising funds and awareness for child cancer research through the St. Baldrick's Foundation. Once again, participants are leveraging social media to inspire donations to their respective teams, Mulvaney's "Sactown Baldies" and "Team deVere's Bald Crusaders." Running tallies are kept and donations can be made throughout the month of March and all year at www.Getbald.com.

WHO:

Emcee Patrick Harbison and Tamera Berg of KCRA Channel 3 will coordinate festivities as Patrick Mulvaney leads his team against Henry and Simon deVere, along with hundreds of shavees and supporters of Keaton's Child Cancer Alliance and St. Baldrick's Foundation.

WHAT:

Downtown Sacramento's Signature St. Baldrick's head-shaving event of 2018, sponsored by Keaton's Child Cancer Alliance, to raise funds and awareness for child cancer research.

WHEN:

Monday, March 12, 2018: 6:00 PM- 7 PM- Photo Ops (to include shaving by a guest of honor and VIP "hairy" local sports mascot)

6:00 PM-9:00 PM (hundreds shaved by Supercuts Salons)

WHERE:

deVere's Irish Pub: 1521 L. Street, Sacramento, 95814 (L St. will be closed off for this special event)

WHY:

Everyone knows someone who has been impacted by childhood cancer. The deVere brothers host this event in honor of their father, Dr. Ralph deVere White, M.D., a Senior Advisor Emeritus with U.C. Davis Comprehensive Cancer Center. Through their efforts, the brothers have raised close to $2.0 million for cancer research. Their passion continues to inspire celebrity head-shaving participants, fuels the friendly rivalry with Mulvaney, and could set northern California above Chicago, Las Vegas, and all other St. Baldrick's regional fundraising throughout the country.
