World Economic Forum Names Royole Founder and CEO One of 2017's Young Global Leaders

FREMONT, Calif., March 20, 2017 /PRNewswire/ -- Royole Corporation, a leading innovator and manufacturer of next-generation human-machine interface technologies and products, is pleased to announce that its Founder and CEO, Dr. Bill Liu, has been selected as a Young Global Leader by the World Economic Forum (WEF). Each year, this honor recognizes the most distinguished leaders under the age of 40 for their professional accomplishments, commitment to society, and potential to contribute to shaping the future of the world through their leadership.

As global industry, government and civil society strive to bridge divides and promote an inclusive future, the WEF brings together a range of inspiring individuals who have distinguished themselves in their fields. Young Global Leaders (YGLs) are proposed through a qualified nomination process and assessed according to rigorous selection criteria that creates a diverse and truly representative body, while accepting only the very best leaders who have already demonstrated their commitment to serving society at large.

"I am very honored to have been selected as a Young Global Leader for the class of 2017," commented Royole Founder and CEO, Dr. Bill Liu. "At Royole, we push boundaries to rethink the world around us, and it is very rewarding to be recognized for all of our teams' hard work. I look forward to beginning my five-year journey with the Forum of Young Global Leaders to help make the world a better place."

As an honoree, Dr. Liu will become an active member of the Forum of Young Global Leaders for a period of five years. The Forum of Young Global Leaders (YGL) is a community of over 800 leaders from all walks of life, who operate as a force for good to overcome barriers that stand in the way of progress and share a commitment to working with their peers to achieve results of true significance. The community forms a unique global network of peers with a highly visible opportunity to significantly ipact world affairs and shape the global agenda.

Dr. Liu is the visionary and pioneer of the world's thinnest flexible display and flexible sensor technologies, and in 2016, introduced Royole Moon, a 3D virtual mobile theater, to the consumer market. Since Royole's inception in 2012, the company has filed over 700 intellectual properties, grown to over 700 employees worldwide, and has achieved a global $3B valuation, making it one of the fastest growing tech startups in the world.

This year's class of 100 Young Global Leaders is split evenly between business and not-for-profit sectors – building a global community of peers who can capitalize on diverse talents, experiences and networks to bridge divides that exist in society and achieve more together than they could separately. Among current and former YGLs are heads of government and Fortune 500 companies, winners of Olympic medals and Academy Awards, and people who have overcome towering adversity to positively change the world we live in.
