Phoenix Nuclear Labs Bolsters Board [Travel & Leisure Close - Up]


(Travel & Leisure Close - Up Via Acquire Media NewsEdge) Phoenix Nuclear Labs (PNL) said that retired Army Lt. Gen. William Phillips has joined its seven-member board of directors.

According to a release from PNL, Phillips recently retired after nearly 38 years of service and currently resides in Alexandria, Va. Over the course of his career, Phillips served as an aviator, an acquisition commander in Iraq and Afghanistan, and as the highest- ranking military acquisition officer in the Army.



The company said that Phillips has held a number of roles critical to transforming Army aviation and acquisition, including deputy program executive officer (PEO) for aviation at Redstone Arsenal; program executive officer for ammunition and commanding general of Picatinny Arsenal; commander joint contracting command Iraq and Afghanistan; and principal military deputy to the assistant secretary of the Army for acquisition, logistics and technology.

"PNL is fortunate to have someone with General Phillips' level of military experience and expertise working with us," said Ross Radel, president of PNL. "We have a lot of great scientists and engineers, and General Phillips will complement our technological progress with the decades of on-the-ground experience that we need to tailor our products and services to best meet the needs of our Armed Forces." Phoenix Nuclear Labs has developed a proprietary, particle accelerator-driven, nuclear fusion technology that has applications ranging from medicine to national defense.
