(Western Morning News (England) Via Acquire Media NewsEdge) Blaze puts fashion retailer offline YORKSHIRE Fashion and beauty online retailer Asos has suffered "substantial damage" after fire broke out in its warehouse.

The company, which said no one had been hurt in the incident on Friday night, said it would be forced to stop taking orders.

A statement posted on its Facebook page said: "We experienced a fire in our warehouse tonight. Sincere apologies for the inconvenience." The warehouse in Barnsley, South Yorkshire, is said to contain more than 10 million boxes of packaging and is more than 60,000 square metres in size.



At the height of the blaze, ten fire engines were at the scene.

The retailer sells fashion and beauty products around the globe and last year made sales of more than Pounds 750 million.
