VIVA signs pact with datamena [Gulf Daily News (Bahrain)](Gulf Daily News (Bahrain) Via Acquire Media NewsEdge) MANAMA: VIVA Bahrain has entered into a partnership with datamena, a UAE-based neutral data centre and connectivity platform. Through the partnership, VIVA will establish a new point of presence that will expand its reach into the Middle East and beyond. The agreement was signed during the International Telecoms Week (ITW). "This is an important part of our expansion strategy positioning VIVA Bahrain as a leading regional carrier and information and communications technology player," VIVA Bahrain chief of wholesale and enterprise officer Saad Odeh said. "Installation of the new node in Dubai will enable us to connect directly with carriers/partners and further strengthen our regional footprint and international services portfolio to better serve our local and international customers." "Our customers will benefit from VIVA Bahrain's presence, which will open up and enhance connectivity with Bahrain and the region, bringing even more benefits to the rich environment that datamena offers," datamena vice-president Mahesh Jaishankar said. This partnership builds on the agreement between VIVA and BT to build a global Internet protocol exchange interoperability hub in Bahrain.
