Vodafone Romania, first telecom operator with international certification for Business Continuity Management [Agerpres, Bucharest, Romania :: ]


(Agerpres (Romania) Via Acquire Media NewsEdge) May 20--BUCHAREST -- Telecom operator Vodafone Romania has received from Lloyd's Register Quality Assurance (LRQA) the international certification for Business Continuity Management (BCM), according to the ISO 22301 standard, which demonstrates the capacity to recover and continue its operations under unforeseen situations.



According to a company's release for AGERPRES, Vodafone Romania is one of the first companies in Romania and the first telecom operator in the country to have received this certification.

The BCM certification is applicable to the design, management and continuity (sales and support) for products and services of electronic terrestrial and mobile communications, voice and data services provided by Vodafone Romania to its customers across the country. The certification encompasses all areas of operations in headquarters and Vodafone offices in Bucharest, call-center buildings, as well as other network hubs in the country.


At the same time, Vodafone has been re-certified with the ISO 27001 standard for Information Safety Management, following a full audit, carried out by KPMG Audit Plc. The mobile phone operator was the first company in Romania certified according to ISO 27001, nine years ago, having managed to maintain it throughout this period.

In the network area, Vodafone has been acknowledged, five times, as the most performing mobile data network of all GSM/UMTS/CDMA networks in Romania, by the independent auditor p3 Communications, since 2011.

Vodafone Romania data show that, on December 31, 2013, the number of the company's customers increased by 132,466, up to 8,315,389. The clients of subscription services accounted for 40.1% and 59.9% were Vodafone prepaid card users, of the total base of Vodafone Romania mobile services customers.

The service revenues of the mobile phone operator increased by 0.4% in the quarter ended on December 31, 2013, compared to the same period of last year, up to 177.1 million euros. Vodafone Romania is a subsidiary of Vodafone Group Plc., the world's largest international mobile telecommunications group, with approximately 419 million customers on December 31, 2013.
