App to remind parents of vaccinations [Times of Oman](Times of Oman Via Acquire Media NewsEdge) Muscat: The Ministry of Health has launched a smartphone app designed to remind parents of their children's vaccination schedules by sending a voice mail and a text message. Dr. Idris Saleh Al Obaidani, director of the Communicable Diseases Surveillance & Control Department, said: "By using this app, you can create a profile by filling the required data such as name, date of birth, address, etc. Options of next follow-up are also included to act as a reminder for parents." The Ministry of Health, represented by the Communicable Diseases Surveillance & Control Department, recently organised a workshop on how to use Immunisation Follow-up Programme on these gadgets. Participants included Immunisation Programme Supervisors, EPI nurses in health establishments, and heads of Health Education departments from different governorates of the Sultanate.
