Health Care Communicators of San Diego Recognizes 'Finest' at San Diego Library GalaSAN DIEGO --(Business Wire)-- San Diego TV personality Kathi Diamant helped Health Care Communicators of San Diego recognize local communicators for exceptional work this past year in healthcare communications as keynote of HCC's "Once Upon an Evening" Finest Awards last night. Held on the ninth floor of the glamorous new San Diego Central Library, the Gala provided celebrants a spectacular view of their city and a chance to hobnob with colleagues and competitors. Actress, former KFMB-TV and KPBS-TV producer/anchor, adjunct San Diego State University professor and author of the award-winning Kafka's Last Love: The Mystery of Dora Diamant, Diamant announced the dozens of winners. "The selection process is tough because we get so many great entries every year," said HCC President Bobette Brown of Palomar Health. "San Diego is remarkably rich in communications talent for a place primarily known for beautiful beaches and animal attractions. We have a plethora of professionals committed to keeping our communities healthy so we can all enjoy San Diego's great lifestyle. Entries were submitted via our new Finest Web site and judged by a panel from the Healthcare Public Relations and Marketing Association of Southern California, our affiliate in Los Angeles. HCC also presented its annual Communicator of the Year ("COTY") Award to Michael Godfrey, senior director, corporate communications, at Scripps Health. Mike, a multiple HCC Finest award winner in past years, was a clear favorite of the crowd. "This event was made possible by the generous support of our sponsors, particularly presenting sponsor AMN Healthcare who has supported the Finest for 11 years," noted Edye Bagheri of Scripps Health. "Scripps Health and Sharp Healthcare have also been gold sponsors for years." Bagheri co-chaired the Finest event with Nicole Quiroz of Sharp (News - Alert) Grossmont.
